Stord Passes $1B Mark, Acquires Network Assets

Stord, a provider of cloud-based supply chain services, has raised $90 million in a new round, making it a member of the ever-growing unicorn club, and warehouses in Connecticut and Nevada to enhance fast delivery and use the facilities as test beds for its technology. Stord is also hiring across the board to manage 3x growth.

Update: CA Gov. Signs Bill Targeting Amazon Labor Practices

Update, Sept. 24: California Gov. Gavin Newsome on Thursday signed a bill that targets labor practices in ecommerce warehouses, including banning the enforcement of performance quotas that impinge on basic worker’s rights like restroom and lunch breaks. Amazon, not named in the bill, is clearly targeted by lawmakers.
