Anyline Launches Mobile Data Capture Solutions for U.S. Retail Sector at NRF 2021

New release of Anyline’s best-in-class smartphone barcode scanner enhances customer experiences and increases employee efficiency

Boston, Jan. 12, 2021 – Anyline Inc., which makes data capture simple, today announced its formal entry into the U.S. retail sector. The company, which specializes in barcode and optical character recognition (OCR) technology for mobile devices, provides the latest in mobile data capture solutions, giving retailers the perfect companion for both self-shopping and efficient inventory management.

The situations surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic have put a spotlight on the customer shopping experience, creating demand for a more personalized, contactless experience. To help retailers meet these expectations, Anyline recently launched the latest update of its best-in-class smartphone barcode scanner, Anyline 27, which offers greater scanning speed, precision and recognition capacity. Anyline mobile data capture can integrate into a retailers’ application or website, enhancing the self-shopping experience and allowing customers to use their own mobile devices. Anyline’s combined price tag and barcode inventory scanner serves any retail business needs – from order to shelf stocking to purchase.

The company raised $12 million in Series A funding last January, which enabled it to double its headcount, expand into the U.S. market and set up a U.S. headquarters in Boston. Since then, the U.S. team has grown across the country, led by Bryan Boatner, the company’s VP of Sales and Business Development.

“This past year, I’ve seen firsthand how quickly the retail sector is evolving, more than any other vertical, as a result of COVID-19,“ said Boatner. “We are excited for the opportunities to grow this market in the U.S. as we help retailers improve data-quality and save valuable time and resources with our mobile data capture solutions.”

The company is already a well-established vendor in other industries, including logistics, security and law enforcement, which uses the company’s technology to identify people, property and vehicles in seconds while on duty. Recently, the company announced full support for U.S. driver’s license coverage. Anyline Universal ID scanner now recognizes any U.S. driver’s license for all states, as well as Mexican Identity Cards. This capability allows retailers to scan licenses during curbside pick-up or at point-of-purchase to verify age and identity for specific purchases, such as alcohol or drugs.

Anyline also released two reports late last year on how U.S. consumer attitudes have changed during COVID-19, which found that a growing demand from both retailers and consumers for contactless data capture technology. Key findings included:

  • 8 in 10 Americans would prefer to use their own devices for in-store shopping.
  • 70% of Americans want a contactless digital alternative to proof-of-delivery signatures for their high-value packages.

“It’s more apparent than ever before that consumers are looking for retailers they can trust and a way to shop safely on their own device,” said Lukas Kinigadner, CEO and co-founder, Anyline. “Retailers can increase customer loyalty by implementing bring your own device (BYOD) mobile scanning capabilities to deliver this type of contactless experience while also decreasing errors and inefficiencies.”

Anyline representatives will be available to chat about Anyline’s mobile data capture solutions for retailers during NRF 2021: Retail’s Big Show – Chapter One, Jan. 12-14, 19 and 21-22, 2021. Visit the virtual booth here.
