Brightpearl Partners with Future Commerce on New Retail Podcast Series

AUSTIN, TX, March 4, 2020 — Brightpearl has teamed up with Future Commerce on the “Step by Step” podcast series in which U.S. retailers discuss the technology powering their businesses.

The six episode series, available here now, encompasses a variety of key US retailers who illuminate the current landscape of the retail industry and discuss the influence of technology on each aspect of their business, with specific focus around the findings of Brightpearl’s new Technology Stack report. The report aims to give an overview of spending on software within the US retail industry, highlighting the key trends of the past 12 months and showcasing merchants’ predictions for 2020.

“We felt that we had three key questions to put to merchants in order to help retailers navigate the tech stack – where have you invested over the past year? Where have you seen a positive/negative return? And where will you be investing in 2020?” says Scott Hill, SVP of Product, Brightpearl. “And what better way to analyse the results than on a podcast alongside fantastic brands like Rep Fitness and Roka? These are highly important conversations for a sector that is changing at such a rapid rate.”

In Episode 1 “How do I build an Ecommerce stack?” Scott discusses what the tech stack concept means for retailers, wholesalers and brands, giving advice on how merchants can navigate a complicated technology landscape.

The new series covers key topics and challenges within the retail sphere, such as the rising cost of customer acquisition and the importance of analysis and forecasting when putting together an investment strategy. It offers insight into the thinking of some of the key US decision makers, and has practical application for merchants who find themselves overrun with software choices for their businesses.
