SOMERVILLE, NJ, May 1, 2019 — Giftapart’s founder and CEO, Filipe Pedroso, was a guest speaker at Worcester Polytechnic Institute’s Foisie Business School in Worcester, MA on April 26. Pedroso spoke at the graduate Marketing Management 500 class about Giftapart.
“Recently Giftapart has been receiving a lot of interest from the public, and Professor [Edward] Gonsalves was one of the inquiries who believed his students would benefit from learning about Giftapart’s new, unique and proprietary method for creating gift registries,” said Pedroso.
“He asked me to speak to his class about Giftapart, our business model, the challenges of a startup, and our growth plan.”
Using Giftapart, a person can create a gift list with one or more items, and not be focused on price because the Giftapart system breaks up the items into affordable parts for easy crowdfunding.
“I was scheduled to speak for one hour, but the students’ were so engaged that we went over the allotted time,” Pedroso said. “It quickly became a conversation and dialogue about Giftapart, our unique product features, how they can benefit the users, and how best to communicate our product to the market.”
“The students appeared very interested and it was a wonderful experience,” Pedroso said. “Giftapart provides such a complete package, and I think they get it. As I explained it to them, Giftapart’s main objective is to make people happy — both the gift receivers and the gift givers.”
Contributors who purchase parts are invited to leave a comment and upload media. “This also sets Giftapart apart. Gift givers can leave their feelings, personal messages, share stories, and even upload pictures or video that are linked to their specific contribution,” said Kevyn Jaremko, director of software development at Giftapart. “What a wonderful way to add to your gifting, and not only help with money but also an emotional message connecting people.”
“We are the first gift registry where the gift receiver can prioritize the list in the order they want to get the gifts, and actually receive the gifts in that order,” added Pedroso, “That’s because gift givers don’t need to worry about the cost. They simply buy the number of parts they want. It’s easy, fast and affordable for them. Everyone is happy!”
“Gifting is a fundamental, social human activity that has its roots as far back as cavemen times. Giftapart has modernized it, made gifting more efficient, and has perfected the gifting experience,” explained Pedroso, “But we’ve managed to keep the social, the human connection, and the emotional warmth of the gifting experience intact.”
Giftapart provides users all the tools they need to create gift lists and then get the gifts. “We have full event planning, so you can plan your birthday party or wedding, link the gift list and wish list, and simultaneously provide your guests a place to chat and share media,” said Pedroso, “You can also send your invitations and lists to friends and family using email, other social media sites, and many other ways. Giftapart truly provides the user all the features they need to make fun, interactive gift lists, and get the products that they really want.”
“And, it’s super cool and fun to set up a gift list for someone else. You can then easily share it among the person’s circle, and together everyone can chip in, leave a nice greeting, and share media. There’s no better way to connect, gift, and share a festive moment than by using Giftapart,” added Pedroso.
Pedroso has filed for numerous international patents in the area of gift registry, social ecommerce, gifting methods, and more. “No one in the world does gifting the way we do,” commented Pedroso.
Giftapart launched its desktop and mobile browser versions in December, and will be releasing iOS and Android mobile apps very soon. The platform currently has over 6,000,000 products, and only lists products from established, credible retailers. Pedroso commented, “There is little doubt that we are innovating gifting, social ecommerce, and gift registries.”
