New York, Oct. 18, 2022 —Shopware, the leading global open source ecommerce platform provider, has appointed Jason Nyhus as President and General Manager of Shopware’s stateside operations. Based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Nyhus’ commerce background spans more than two decades, with proven success supporting more than 50 best-in-class partners.
As part of his new role, he will be responsible for leading all U.S. operations, including partner relationships, marketing, sales, customer success, technical sales, revenue operation and SDRs, as well as leading expansion efforts more generally.
“To say I’m thrilled to be joining such an innovative company as Shopware would be an understatement,” said Nyhus. “As an ecommerce company, Shopware may very well be the best kept secret in the industry, and I look forward to helping us become well known in the U.S. market—where the sky’s the limit—and further building upon our track record in Europe.”
Nyhus previously served as an executive at Digital River, where he was responsible for all areas of their go to market operations. He was instrumental in helping the company execute a major transformation, modernizing its offering from a full-stack, direct sales approach to an agile, API-based company with a partner-centric approach and an ecosystem of more than 50 best-in-class partners.
“Jason is the perfect leader to help us round out our growing U.S. team, bringing with him a wealth of experience in sales management and business development, forecasting and analytics, as well as brand management and customer relationship management,” said Stefan Hamann, Co-CEO at Shopware. “He has already demonstrated that he’s not afraid to get his hands dirty and will do whatever it takes to elevate our stateside operations to the next level.”
