Survey: e-mail marketing really does work

A new Direct Marketing Association study shows an increasing number of marketers profiting from e-mail marketing. Nearly two-thirds of participants in The DMA’s State of the E-Commerce Industry Report said that their sales increased last year as a result of e-mail marketing promotions. The report concludes that nearly 60% of medium-size companies reported the positive results, followed by 47% of larger marketers, and 43% of small companies.

Among other findings: 63% of respondents found e-mail marketing the most effective promotional method to retain customers; 37% say it’s an effective customer acquisition tool.
