If you’re seeking a direct marketing job, you may get lucky this winter. Among the 194 direct marketing companies surveyed earlier this month by Owatonna, MN-based Bernhart Associates Executive Search, 64% expect to be hiring during the first quarter of 2004. That’s up from 51% during the fourth quarter of 2003.
“The new jobs index, the one we follow most closely, is up 13% over last quarter representing the biggest quarter-to-quarter increase since the survey began three years ago,” Bernhart Associates president Jerry Bernhart said in a statement. “Plans to add staff are broad-based across all major job categories.”
One-fifth of the companies surveyed still have hiring freezes, however.
