Athletic footwear, apparel and sports equipment supplier Eastbay is closing its Allouez, WI, call center by July 31, according to published reports. About 200 employees will be out of work as a result.
The company notified workers at the facility in late May, citing the economy for the closure. The lease in the building was up soon, which was said to be another factor.
Eastbay, which is owned by Foot Locker, has two other call centers in Wisconsin, in Wausau (where it’s headquartered) and Oshkosh. Some employees at the call center in Allouez will have the opportunity to transfer to one of the other center.
