Groton, MA-based New England Business Service (NEBS), a multititle mailer of business supplies catalogs, has names Richard Riley president/chief operating officer. Riley joined NEBS in 1997 when the company acquired Rapidforms, of which Riley was president. More recently he was president of NEBS Direct Marketing, the company’s largest division.
In his new position, Riley will also serve as part of the newly created office of the chairman. The other members of the office of the chairman are NEBS chairman/CEO Robert Murray and executive vice president/chieffinancial officer Daniel Junius.
NEBS also named Hedy Veith Whitney senior vice president, human resources. She was previously senior vice president/director of human resources for Fidelity Investments Retirement Services Co.
Cincinnati-based Federated Department Stores also made several boardroom changes. James Amann will oversee Federated Direct, which includes the Bloomingdale’s by Mail catalog and Macy’s.com Website. Currently chairman of Federated’s financial, administrative, and credit services division, Amann will no longer oversee that group effective Sept. 1.
