Henry Schein Passes $5 Billion in Sales
Fourth-quarter sales at Henry Schein, a Melville, NY-based distributor of medical, dental, and veterinary supplies, rose nearly 12%, to $1.5 billion for the three months ended Dec. 30. Fourth-quarter net income increased 30%, to $63.0 million from $48.6 million.
Full-year sales rose 11%, to $5.15 billion from $4.64 billion in 2005. For the full year, net income increased 17%, to $163.8 million from $139.8 million.
Net Income Receives Boost at PC Mall
Fourth-quarter consolidated net sales for Torrance, CA-based computer reseller PC Mall rose 13%, to $295.3 million for the three months ended Dec. 31. Net income increased 24%, to $1.7 million from nearly $1.4 million.
Full-year consolidated net sales increased less than 1%, to $1.0 billion from $997.2 million. But the company dug itself out of a hole on the other side of the ledger, posting net income of nearly $4.0 million, compared with a net loss of $3.7 million loss it had reported in 2005..
