PC Connection’s Sales Fall 10%

Information technology products merchant PC Connection saw its fourth-quarter and 12-month sales fall for the period ended Dec. 31. Net sales for the quarter decreased 10%, to $439.1 million and slipped 2%, to $1.75 billion for the fiscal year.

Reorg, Layoffs for Macy’s

Department store chain Macy’s said Monday it is cutting 7,000 jobs–about 4% of its total current workforce–in its stores, distribution centers and offices. The company is reorganizing, eliminating its Macy’s division structure and integrating all functions into a single organization.

Possible Sale for Design Within Reach

Furniture merchant Design Within Reach announced Feb. 2 it has hired investment banking firm Thomas Weisel Partners to help it review strategic alternatives. The firm will provide advice related to an unsolicited offer recently received by Design Within Reach.
