I’m stepping away for a moment from talking about the holiday shopping season to consider the behemoth that is Amazon.
Each week as my colleagues and I decide on a subject line for our newsletters, we come across at least one if not two Amazon-related articles.
That’s because Amazon never seems to be at a loss for finding new ways to carry forward its mantle as a disruptive force in ecommerce. And for that reason, people always seem to be hungry for news of what Amazon is up to.
So here’s a quick snapshot of their latest moves.
Just this week, Amazon took a page from eBay when it announced its “Make an Offer” option for sellers and customers.
Amazon continued to push the ecommerce envelope with its announcement it would test bikes in New York for “ultra-fast delivery.
On Cyber Monday last week, Amazon announced the unveiling of its 8th generation fulfillment center utilizing robotics from its acquisition of Kiva.
As we dive into 2015, it will be interesting to see what new tricks Amazon has up its sleeves.
