Laurent Potdevin has resigned as CEO and director of leading athleisure brand lululemon athletica inc., in the fallout from poor behavior stemming from a relationship with a designer, multiple outlets are reporting, and a search is underway for his replacement.
“lululemon expects all employees to exemplify the highest levels of integrity and respect for one another, and Mr. Potdevin fell short of these standards of conduct,” the company said in a release announcing the resignation, without elaborating.
Board member Glenn Murphy has been named executive chairman in the wake of Potdevin’s departure. In addition, three other executives are being given expanded roles: Celeste Burgoyne, Executive Vice President, Americas, will oversee all channel and brand-facing aspects of the global business; COO Stuart Haselden takes over operations related to finance, supply chain, people, and technology; and Sun Choe, Senior Vice President of Merchandising, will handle product development, design, innovation and merchandising.
