London-based ecommerce technology delivery services provider The Metapack Group has acquired ABOL Software Inc. of Altlanta, a provider of multi-carrier shipping software in North America, the company said in a press release.
The acquisition expands Metapack’s global delivery services offering here, allowing its European ecommerce customers to drive cross-border sales and improve international delivery. Some of Metapack’s customers include Argos, Asos, Fortnum & Mason and Kurt Geiger.
ABOL is focused on enabling cross-border shipping, and has relationships with multiple carriers in North America, including DHL, FedEx, UPS and USPS through its Control Tower software. The shipping solution provides integration and compliance with more than 60 carriers globally.
Among other things, the acquisition of ABOL will allow Metapack to provide its customers with improved visibility into global shipments across carriers and countries. It also offers enhanced delivery intelligence and reporting to better understand delivery challenges like potential delays, so retailers can make adjustments in their supply chain to alleviate issues.
“The latest acquisition is key for our international growth and demonstrates our commitment to providing a first-class service to our customers,” said Patrick Wall, CEO and founder of Metapack. “The move will enable us to offer more competitive cross-border delivery services to retailers, while allowing them to venture into new markets and drive business growth.”
This follows Metapack’s December 2013 acquisition of European shipping solutions provider XLogics.
