The Bon-Ton Stores Inc. announced it would close 42 store locations as part of its “store rationalization program.” The closings of the stores will include locations under all of the company’s nameplates.
“Including other recently announced store closures, we expect to close a total of 47 stores in early 2018. We remain focused on executing store initiatives to drive improved performance in an effort to strengthen our capital structure to support the business going forward,” said Bill Tracy, President and Chief Executive Officer for the Bon-Ton Stores in a press release.
Bon-Ton will start store closing sales as of this week and run approximately 10 to 12 weeks. The store closings announced are in addition to the five other recently announced store closures, four of which the company completed at the end of January and one of which the company will conclude at its closing sale this month.
