Coldwater, Orvis Name New Presidents

Women’s apparel merchant Coldwater Creek has promoted Daniel Griesemer to president/chief operating officer. He will share the post of
president with Georgia Shonk-Simmons, who was named president/chief

merchandising officer in 2002. She will continue to oversee

merchandising for the Sandpoint, ID-based cataloger/retailer, while

Griesemer handles sales, marketing, and retail expansion as well as

distribution center and contact center operations. Griesemer had been

executive vice president of sales and marketing since 2005; he joined

Coldwater in 2001.

The Orvis Co. also promoted an insider to president: Ray McCready, who

had been vice president of merchandising and retail for the

cataloger/retailer of outdoor gear, apparel, decor, and gifts. Perk

Perkins, whose family bought Orvis in 1965, will remain CEO. In

addition, chief financial officer Brian Gowan is adding chief

operating officer to his title and responsibilities.
