Apparel cataloger/retailer J. Crew had plenty of good news to report from its second quarter ended Aug. 4. The New York-based company’s revenue for the quarter rose 13%, to $304.7 million from $269.1 million in the same period last year. Internet and catalog sales jumped 19%, to $74.5 million from $62.8 million. Store sales (retail and factory) increased 11%, to $219.6 million. Same-store sales rose 16% and net income soared to $20.6 million, compared with a net loss of $2.8 million last year.
