The yet-to-be-named process takes Internet click-stream data and overlays them onto ConsumerBase’s database of postal information. For instance, a marketer planning a direct mail campaign for fishing gear could target prospects more efficiently by directing mailings to those who have shown interest in e-mails related to outdoor activities. The company expects to have full patent protection within the next 12 months.

Chicago-based database marketing provider Alterian has partnered with Lanham, MD-based database marketing agency Merkle to improve operational efficiencies and deliver gains in database functionality, increase development speed, and enable faster execution of complex campaigns.
