Miles Kimball to Move Contact Center

Gifts and housewares mailer Miles Kimball Co. will close its Las Vegas contact center on March 16 and move more than 100 jobs to Oshkosh, WI.

According to published reports, the company received an economic incentive package from the state of Wisconsin that includes a customized labor training grant, a forgivable loan, and a technology zone tax credit package will create 60 full-time and 100 year-round part-time jobs and a need for another 100 seasonal workers each fall.

Miles Kimball, a division of Greenwich, CT-based Blyth, will invest $6.7 million in its new corporate data center, Web processing system, enterprise resource system, and contact center. In addition to the namesake catalog, Miles Kimball includes the Walter Drake, Home Marketplace, and Exposures catalogs and Websites.

Once the move is completed, Miles Kimball’s work force will be based in Oshkosh. About 20 Walter Drake employees will remain in Colorado Springs, CO. The addition of the contact center will mean the company employs about 700 year-round employees and 800 seasonal workers.
