Computer reseller Zones (Nasdaq: ZONS) recorded a nice boost to its bottom line for the quarter ended June 30. Second-quarter profits soared 52%, to $4.4 million, up from $2.9 million for the same period in 2006. What’s more, the Renton, WA-based merchant’s net sales rose 32.4%, to $192.2 million, compared with $145.2 million last year. Zones president/CEO Firoz Lalji said in a release: “I am very pleased to announce that our second quarter sales and earnings represent the best quarter in the history of our company and reflect our unwavering commitment to five star customer service.”
