Upscale jeweler Tiffany & Co. grew its direct marketing sales 10% for the fourth quarter and 11% for the year ended Jan. 31. Catalog and Web sales for the fourth quarter were $78.1 million, while total fourth-quarter sales were $986.4 million, up 15% from the previous fourth quarter. Annual direct sales hit $174.1 million, with net sales for the year reaching nearly $2.65 billion—an 11% year-over-year hike.
Earnings, however, were more or less flat for both the quarter and the year. Net earnings for the fourth quarter were $140.5 million; for the year, $253.9 million.
