Kitchen/home goods merchant Williams-Sonoma has named Anna Last, the former editor-in-chief at Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia’s Everyday Food, as its senior vice president and creative director.
Last will oversee how the brand is represented in catalogs, on its website, and in its stores. Last also served as senior style editor for Real Simple magazine, contributing editor at Marie Claire Australia, and food editor for Vogue Entertaining + Travel.
Williams-Sonoma’s first-quarter sales rose 6.1%, to $818 million, up from $771 million, for the period ended April 29, 2012. Direct-to-customer net sales increased 8.8%, to $374 million, up from $344 million.
