Amazon announced last week that it plans on expanding its Pacific Northwest presence with the opening a new fulfillment center just outside of its Seattle headquarters. This will be the fourth fulfillment center operated by Amazon in Washington.
The new facility will be located in Kent, which is roughly 20 miles outside of the Emerald City. Amazon’s other Washington fulfillment centers are located in Sumner and Bellevue, and another in DuPont site is almost near completion, according to a press release.
The Kent facility will be picking, packing and shipping small items directly to customers, according to Amazon, such as books, electronics and consumer goods.
Amazon did not say when the new Kent facility was expected to open.
