Ebay Inc. announced this week that PayPal president David Marcus is leaving the company for Facebook. His last day is expected to be June 27, according to a press release from eBay Inc. Marcus will be leading Facebook’s messaging products.
PayPal’s leadership team will report to ebay Inc.’s president and CEO John Donahoe until a new president is named.
Paypal has more than 148 million accounts and in 2013 processed $180 billion in payment volume. Paypal has processed $27 billion of mobile payments volume in 2013. Paypal accounted for 41% of eBay Inc. revenue in 2013.
