Where are fans most heavily concentrated?
The image shows the relative popularity of the two teams by state, with blue showing the states where more people are searching for Seahawks gear and orange where they are searching for more Broncos gear.
We see the expected concentrations of support in the contenders’ home and neighboring states, and areas far removed tend to be evenly split, as you can see on much of the East Coast.
Note also the localized Seahawks support in New England (where the Broncos knocked out the Patriots in the AFC Championship) and the divided loyalties in California, where West Coast fealty wars with the fact that Seattle took out the 49ers.
