Quill.com named Sergio Pereira as president. Pereira replaces Mike Patriarca, who was named senior vice-president, global transformation for parent company Staples, Inc.
Pereira has been with Quill.com for five years and lead the company’s marketing and merchandising efforts. In 2009, he rebranded Quill as Quill.com. He launched Dunder Mifflin office products through a licensing deal with NBC Universal.
Pereira said in an email that in an effort to make ordering business products more efficient for its customers, the company is rapidly expanding its product assortment.
“We have more than tripled the SKU count on Quill.com from 50,000 to 160,000 SKUs,” said Pereira.
In July, Quill.com joined forces with home goods retailer Wayfair.com to offer a selection of home and office products on Quill.com.
Pereira said the company also joined forces with Poppin, an office supply business, to add more variety to its assortment.
“We are always looking for ways to make our customers’ days easier and expanding our assortment does just that,” said Pereira. “It gives them the opportunity to buy everything they need to run their business from one place.
Pereira said his focus as president will be to make sure to earn its customers’ business in office supplies, paper towels, cleaning products and other areas. He said the company aspires to go from being a customer’s preferred supplier for all the products they need to run the office.
