3Q Earnings Up at Aristotle

Though instability continues to plague marketers in the K-12 educational products market, Stamford, CT-based manufacturer/marketer Aristotle Corp. enjoyed a 10% increase in third-quarter earnings.

The parent company of the Nasco, Haan Crafts, To-Sew, Summit Learning, Hubbard Scientific, Scott Resources, and Spectrum Educational Supplies catalogs posted net income of $8.6 million, up from $7.8 million a year ago. The increase came despite a 6% decline in revenue, to $52.0 million for the three months ended Sept. 30, compared with $55.5 million a year ago.
