I was More Than Surprised to Read in Multichannel Merchant’s August Catalog Tracker (“May Mailings plunge”) that “Mailbox clutter seems to be clearing out.” Clutter? Is that really what you think of catalog mail? Odd, considering we catalogers consider you an important advocate and industry voice!
I just feel that we all need to be very careful about words like “clutter” and “junk mail.” It only feeds those who would legislate or push to legislate to limit what and how we market in the U.S.
Obviously, if we care about the planet, we all want to be responsible about what we do. And frankly, I think most catalogers are — especially niche merchants like ourselves.
