Just because you grow up doesn’t mean you like to eat your vegetables. But you can get your neccessary vitamins and minerals from the Web by visiting Bioenergy Nutrients. The Boulder, CO-based company, which has sold vitamins and nutritional supplements through a print catalog for nine years, launched an Internet catalog in September.
While Bioenergy Nutrients will continue its print catalog, division manager Robin Mathias says the company launched the site because “we wanted to make sure that we had a Web presence.” Mathias says that the online response rate has met expectations; orders average $40-$100.
“In addition to selling products, the site has proved to be a customer acquisition tool,” Mathias says. The company also offers special promotions on the Website. “People who like to try new products usually prefer the 30% discount, whereas regular supplement users might prefer the buy-two-get-one-free special.”
