Hoping to further augment its presence in Thailand, Milwaukee-based Brady Corp. acquired Thailand-based Technology Print Supplies and its sister company Technology and Supply Media Co. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Both of the acquired companies manufacture and supply pressure sensitive labels, nameplates, and tags. The two businesses, which had fiscal 2004 sales of approximately $6 million, employ about 160 people between two locations in Thailand. Technology Print Supplies primarily serves the electronics and hard disk drive markets, but also sells to other industries, including healthcare and automotive.
The Thai market is key to Brady’s continued growth in Asia because it’s the second largest producer–after Singapore–of electronics equipment and devices, including hard disk drives, in Southeast Asia.
Besides its U.S. business, the $671 million Brady operates in Europe, Asia/Pacific, Latin America, and Canada. It also operates the Branford, CT-based cataloger Seton, a direct marketer of tags and industrial identification products.
