Daisytek launches catalog program for resellers

(Direct Newsline) Daisytek has sent out 25,000 copies of its newly launched “big book” – a 700-page Business Products catalog its retailers can customize for redistribution to their customers. This edition marks the first time Daisytek has generated such a catalog.

The Allen, TX-based company is also releasing a series of smaller companion catalogs that highlight specific product categories. In August it sent out a business machine and peripherals book, and last week released an “office essentials” minicatalog. On Nov. 25 it will offer a computer supply minicatalog.

The big book offers resellers the option of printing the retailer’s name on the cover and doing some insert versioning. According to Gordon Zdeblick, vice president of office products, most of the 25,000 sent out so far have had at least some degree of customization, with a few larger retailers providing artwork for a customized cover.

The big book features 12,000 items specifically chosen for their availability. All the items can be delivered within a matter of a few days via FedEx or UPS. An expanded roster of offerings is available through the company’s Website.

“In medium to larger-size business, there is more than one person in purchasing chain, and those people want to see an expanded assortment of what they are charged with buying,” Zdeblick says.
