Delia’s Sees Sales Rise for Quarter and Year

Fourth-quarter sales at cataloger/retailer Delia’s inched up, to $67.2 million, from $67.1 million. For the 13-week period ended Jan. 31, net income more than tripled, to $22.6 million, up from $6.0 million.

Same-store sales increased 2%, down from 9% last year. Total retail sales increased 6.9%, to $33.9 million. Sales for the direct segment, which includes the Delia’s and Alloy teen girls’ apparel catalogs and extreme-sports gear catalog CCS, fell 6%, to $33.3 million.

For the fiscal year, total revenue increased 7%, to $215.6 million, from $201.6 million. Net income was $17.2 million, compared to a net loss of $2.3 million last year.
