Hudson’s Bay Company announced that Donald Watros, who is currently the company’s chief operating officer, has been named president of HBC effective Feb. 1, according to a press release by HBC.
Watros will continue to report to Richard Baker, governor and CEO of HBC. Baker said Watros’ role as president is “Integral to a new, robust leadership structure that will focus on managing growing HBC along with its strong expanding portfolio of brands.”
The company’s retail brands include Hudson’s Bay, Lord & Taylor, Saks Fifth Avenue, Saks OFF5th and Home Outfitters.
Watros was appointed as chief operating officer for the company in 2009. Prior to that he worked for NRDC Equity Partners LLC. He previously held various management positions at May Department Stores and served as chief administrative officer of Saks Fifth Avenue.
