Second-quarter net sales at Abercrombie & Fitch rose 5%, to $845.8 million, up from $804.5 million for the same period last year. For the period ended Aug. 2, the apparel retailer’s net income slipped 4.3%, to $77.8 million, down from $81.3 million in the second quarter of 2007. Same-store sales decreased 4%, while direct-to-consumer net sales shot up 23%, to $55.9 million.
