Albert Casey, who in 1986 served the shortest term as postmaster general since the U.S. Postal Service was reorganized in 1971, died on July 10. He was 84. He was appointed to a nine-year term on the USPS Board of Governors by President Bush in August 2002 and had taught at Southern Methodist University’s Edwin L. Cox School of Business for the past 18 years.
