Edgewater, NJ-based Hanover Direct plans to consolidate its Company Store distribution center into La Crosse, WI, over the next year into its Roanoke, VA, facility. Hanover owns the 630,000-sq.-ft. Roanoke facility but leases the La Crosse building. The Roanake DC has excess capacity whereas the La Crosse warehouse is running out of space.
The move does not affect Hanover’s WI call center, manufacturing facility, or outlet stores, all of which employ approximately 640 people.
Although implementation of the consolidation plan will occur during the next 12 months, Hanover says discussions have begun with representatives of Local 379 of tThe Union of Needletrades, Industrial, and Textile Employees (UNITE) to discuss the impact on the union employees.
