Harry and David Sees Increase in Overseas Shipping Inquiries

Medford, OR–Relatives and friends of soldiers in the war against terrorism may be gearing up to send their uniformed loved ones gifts this holiday season. Gourmet food gifts cataloger Harry and David reports a 25% increase in consumer inquiries related to international shipping. The company is also receiving questions about what gifts are appropriate to send soldiers and when and how to ship the items.

According to a statement by president/CEO Nancy Tait, some of the company’s more popular items so far this holiday season are its miniature living Christmas tree, which arrives completely decorated, and its Tower of Treats, an assortment of gourmet snacks. “Based on our phone and Web inquiries, customers tell us they are looking for American gifts that they know can be shipped great distances and will remind them of home,” Tait says. Harry and David ships to more than 100 countries.
