Hardware category killer Home Depot is entering the consumer catalog fray. The Atlanta-based retailer is mailing a 68-page holiday catalog to 5 million customers. The catalog’s offerings include power tools, Cuisinart appliances, and toys and books for children. A number of items will not be available in stores.
“We’re going after the gift business in a big way,” John Costello, executive vice president of merchandising and marketing, said in a statement. Customers can order via a toll-free number or online.
While the new catalog is the $58.2 billion company’s first Home Depot-branded title, it’s not Home Depot’s first catalog. The company owns Maintenance Warehouse, a cataloger of commercial maintenance supplies.
