On Dec. 30, one month prior to the Super Bowl, The Gift Exchange (www.TheGX.com) launched three Websites selling food packages licensed by the Baltimore Ravens, the Denver Broncos, and the New York Giants. Among the items featured in “the official gourmet dessert line” of the three football teams is something called the Playoff Pak. To quote the description from the Denver Broncos Gourmet Dessert Shop portion of the site: “Celebrate the playoffs with the Broncos! This Playoff Pak includes twelve chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin, sugar, and special cut-out cookies; twelve fudge brownies…” Alas for Bronco fans – and for The Gift Exchange – no sooner had the site launched than the team was eliminated from the post-season. At least the team that beat the Broncos was…the Baltimore Ravens.
