Maintenance, repair, and operations supplier Interline Brands has expanded its heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning business with its purchase this month of Copperfield. Based is Fairfield, IA, Copperfield is a $41 million multichannel distributor of specialty ventilation and chimney maintenance products.
Jacksonville, FL-based Interline paid $70 million for Copperfield. “The acquisition of Copperfield fits well with our strategy of acquiring businesses with leadership positions in residential repair markets. We were attracted to Copperfield because of its strong catalog brand, national distribution coverage and EBITDA margins exceeding 20%,” Interline president/CEO Michael Grebe said in a statement.
The $630 million-plus Interline Brands operates several multichannel brands, including Wilmar, Barnett, and Sexauer. The company went public in December 2004.
