Jockey Celebrates National Adoption Month

November is National Adoption Month, and apparel manufacturer/marketer Jockey International is showing its support by increasing its funding of post-adoption services.

Jockey is donating 1% of all Jockey catalog and Jockey.com Web sales for the month to the Debra Steigerwaldt Waller Foundation for Adoption, an organization that funds services for adoptive children and families.

The month also marks the fifth anniversary of Jockey Being Family, the brand’s corporate citizenship initiative to help strengthen post-adoptive families. Jockey Being Family has supported post-adoption services through Jockey employee volunteerism and financial support to signature nonprofit partners since 2005.

Partners have included the North American Council on Adoptable Children, the Center for Adoption Support and Education, the Adoption Council of Canada and the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption.

The Kenosha, WI-based merchant is also donating 100% of sales from its Jockey Being Family Bear to the Steigerwaldt Waller Foundation for the month of November. Jockey typically donates $3 from each purchase of the Being Family teddy bear to support post-adoption services.

Jockey, which is known primarily as underwear brand, mailed its first apparel catalog in May 2008. The book sells Jockey-branded merchandise, integrating the latest offerings from the Kenosha, WI-based manufacturer across all categories, including, undergarments, sleepwear and activewear.
