On Sept. 9 a regional National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) denied Brylane’s effort to allow for a secret ballot election on union representation. Earlier the Union of Needletrades, Industrial, and Textile Employees (UNITE) won the right to have employees at Brylane’s Indianapolis and Plainfield, IN, fulfillment centers vote on unionization by signing union cards. The multititle cataloger employs 800 workers in its two Indiana facilities.
Brylane is considering appealing to the full NLRB board in Washington.
