FedEx, UPS and the United States Postal Service said service interruptions continue in the areas hit by Hurricane Sandy, which has been downgraded by the National Hurricane Center as a “post-tropical” storm but is still considered dangerous.
Although contingency plans are in place, FedEx said on its service alerts page that some service delays and disruptions may be anticipated in New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Maryland, Washington, D.C., Delaware, Connecticut, Rhode Island and North Carolina.
UPS has announced service delays in Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Virginia, and Washington, DC. No pickups or deliveries are available in Delaware, Maryland, Washington, DC and in select zip codes in the above-listed states.
