Mokrynski Not Mulling Retirement

The March 19 announcement that Mokrynski & Associates has named Dennis Bissig president no doubt had many in the industry wondering if the list firm’s founder Don Mokrynski was getting ready to retire.

No way, says Mokrynski: “I have no retirement in mind.” Rather, Mokrynski will retain an active role as the company’s chairman while Bissig, previously senior vice president/director of marketing services, will take over the day-to-day management duties. Mokrynski says he plans to maintain relationships with clients and other industry leaders, working with them on strategic issues, and new business opportunities. He’ll also be helping Bissig, who joined Mokrynski & Associates in 1991 after 10 years with women’s apparel cataloger Chadwick’s of Boston.

“We’re going to be more dynamic,” Mokrynski says about the Hackensack, NJ-based company he founded in 1978. “We have a lot of young people and experienced people, and I thought it was time that we had those people take over the reigns,” though he’ll still be there to guide them.
