Denver-based e-Toys Direct has purchased the assets of Englewood Village, CO-based cataloger My Twinn for $1.06 million. Formerly known as KB Online Holdings, e-Toys Direct was bought in May by an affiliate company of New York-based investment firm D.E. Shaw. D.E. Shaw also owns toys cataloger FAO Schwarz.
My Twinn, which abruptly ceased operations a week before Christmas last year, filed for Chapter 7 liquidation on Dec. 19. My Twinn specialized in dolls personalized to resemble “the special child in your life.” Per its licensing agreement, eToys Direct Inc. will operate the KB Toys.com Website.
