United Media and Charles M. Schulz Creative Associates have partnered with e-commerce provider FanBuzz to develop the official online store for the Peanuts comic strip. And next year, FanBuzz will produce a print catalog of Peanuts products. FanBuzz already produces a print catalog for the National Hockey League.
The catalog is expected to reach more than 1 million consumers in four mailings. Like the online store, it will feature products not previously available in the U.S.
Does the world need another Peanuts-related catalog? After all, Longmont, CO-based Concepts Direct already produces the Snoopy Etc. catalog. As it happens, Concepts Direct’s licensing agreement with United Media and Charles M. Schulz Creative Associates expires at the end of the year.
