Chris Dwyer-Jaroszcwicz, a 13-year veteran with the Michigan Bulb Group, was promoted to the newly created position of vice president of merchandising and purchasing for hard lines and new business. Roy Zahnleuter, who joined the company in 1996, was named vice president of horticultural merchandising and purchasing. Foster & Gallagher also promoted Barb McConnell to director of advertising/desktop publishing.
John Langdon was named president/chief executive officer of Hickory Farms, the Maumee, OH-based specialty foods cataloger/retailer. Langdon was formerly president/chief operating officer of the Topps Co. He replaces Hickory Farms co-owner Robert Dyer Jr., who remains on the board of directors.
Michael Turner has joined Milford, NH-based computer cataloger PC Connection as vice president of marketing. Turner was most recently vice president of direct marketing for Brookstone.
Wiley Sharp III was named vice president of finance, strategy, and long-range planning for Minneapolis-based membership club cataloger Damark International. A consultant to Damark since November, Sharp was previously chief financial officer of United Market Services Co.
The Talbots, based in Hingham, MA, has promoted Bruce Prescott from vice president of customer service and telemarketing to senior vice president, direct marketing. The women’s apparel cataloger/retailer also promoted Carol Stone to the new position of vice president, corporate controller.
The catalog division of Columbus, OH-based Victoria’s Secret promoted Sue Horn from director of circulation to vice president, circulation. Horn joined the women’s apparel marketer eight years ago as a circulation analyst.

General merchandise cataloger Fingerhut Cos. promoted Gerald Knight to executive vice president of finance/chief financial officer from senior vice president/chief financial officer. The company also promoted Michael Sherman to executive vice president of business development, general counsel and secretary, and named John Buck an executive vice president of human resources, information services, and operations.
Bowling Green, KY-based Camping World has promoted Jane Browning to vice president, catalog sales and operations. Most recently director of catalog sales and operations, Browning has been with theRV accessories cataloger/retailer since 1976.
Apparel cataloger/retailer Eddie Bauer, based in Redmond, WA, has hired Michael Alexin as vice president of product design and development. He most recently was global director of apparel merchandising for Nike.
Secaucus, NJ-based multititle cataloger Genesis Direct has added Marvin Runyon and Ilan Kaufthal to its board of directors. Runyon retired several months ago as postmaster general and CEO of the U.S. Postal Service. Kaufthal is vice chairman of Schroder & Co.
Steven Bock, CEO of Specialty Catalog Corp., has assumed the additional position of president. He replaces Stephen O’Hara, who resigned from the South Easton, MA-based multititle wigs cataloger to pursue other interests.
Gerard Petrocelli has joined Farmingdale, NY, list firm 21st Century Marketing as an account executive, working primarily with high-tech and business-to-business lists. He was previously an account executive at Direct Media.
Greenwich, CT-based printer World Color Press named James Lillie its executive vice president of investor relations and corporate communications. He had been executive vice president of operations since 1996.
New York investment banking firm Gruppo, Levey & Capell has named David Smith managing director and head of its mergers and acquisitions practice. A founding member of the mergers and acquisitions group of investment bank Alex Brown & Sons, Smith last year founded David F. Smith & Co., an investment and merchant banking firm.
Brian Williamson has joined U.K.-based list firm HLB as strategic planning director. Formerly with multititle apparel cataloger The Mark Group, Williamson will consult with core clients and identify potential opportunities for HLB.
Communication Service Centers, a call center in Margate, FL, hired Neil Schwartz as director of marketing. Schwartz was previously sales manager for the Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach, FL, offices of Brink’s Home Security.
Call Interactive promoted Sue Riedman from manager of marketing to director of marketing. The Omaha, NE-based provider of interactive voice response services also hired John Berigan as director of sales. He was most recently national sales manager for Prestige Cards.
Ron Copeland was promoted from associate art director to art director at direct marketing firm Dimac Direct, a division of St. Louis-based Dimac Marketing Corp. Another division of Dimac Marketing, fulfillment company Palm Coast Data, appointed Steve Strickman president. Strickman was most recently president of consultancy SES & Co. Strickman replaces John Meneough, who was promoted to president of Dimac Direct and executive vice president of DMAC Holding, the parent company of the newly merged Dimac Direct and AmeriComm Holdings.
