The print catalog is not dead yet: R.R. Donnelley has snagged a multiyear $175 million agreement with multititle apparel, gifts and home goods catalog mailer Orchard Brands. Under the deal, Chicago-based R.R. Donnelley will handle all of Orchard Brands’ catalog printing and provide postal logistics services for the merchant’s mailings.
“RR Donnelley’s leadership in comailing, innovative variable trim binding technology, and postage optimization software tools will continue to deliver enhanced value to our catalog marketing programs,” said Orchard Brands’ vice president of print production Maura Lyons in a statement. “Our brands are known for world-class customer service and state of the art fulfillment practices. We believe that RR Donnelley mirrors these values.”
Most Orchard Brands titles target consumers over age 55. Its catalogs include Appleseed’s, Bedford Fair Lifestyles, Blair, Brownstone Studio, Coward, Draper’s & Damon’s, Gold Violin, Haband, Intimate Appeal, Lew Magram, Monterey Bay, Norm Thompson, Old Pueblo Traders, Sahalie, Solutions, The Tog Shop, Willow Ridge and WinterSilks.
