The Design Within Reach catalog, which sells upscale modern furniture, features mini profiles of some of its more celebrated designers. You’d think the least the cataloger could do is spell the names of the designers correctly. A recent catalog edition includes a profile of the “fearlessly innovative” Danish designer Nanna Ditzel to introduce a spread selling Ditzel’s Trinidad Outdoor Chair and Copenhagen Bench. But in the product copy, the designer is listed as “Nana” Ditzel — at least some of the time. The first name is spelled both ways throughout — it’s even spelled two different ways within the same copy block. Note to Design Within Reach: Hire a good proofreader — you’re seriously undermining your credibility.
