One very fortunate director of operations out there is earning a quarter of a million dollars annually, but according to Crandall Associates, he or she is an anomaly. The New York-based executive recruitment firm’s 2006 National Salary Guide for Direct Marketing and Telesales find that while $250,000 was the highest reported salary among the ops directors surveyed, typical salaries are $81,100-$87,500 for those with one to three years of experience to $94,900-$122,000 for the directors with more than seven years of experience.
As further evidence that the ops director raking in $250K a year is not typical, the 2006 Crandall Salary Survey, which details the salaries of 72 positions across all facets of direct marketing, finds that a typical salary for vice president of operations is $90,200-$110,300 with one to three years of experience to $110,300-$150,100 with more than seven years of experience. The highest reported salary Crandall found for this title is $167,000.
A warehouse manager with one to three years of experience, meanwhile earns $51,200-$56,300 while those with more than seven years of experience earn $62,600-$68,900.
